Processionary pine: their hair causes serious problems to humans, but can be removed using ecological methods.
processionary The pine is a moth. The caterpillars, which is the stage of development preceding that of an adult, have thick hair that falls easily spread in the environment and causing inflammatory reactions in humans and animals particularly particularly great when the hairs come into contact with the respiratory system. The most natural and effective pest control is to treat infested trees with Bacillus thuringiensis, a microorganism processionary harmful to larvae but harmless to humans and other ecosystem components. The best time for treatment is the autumn, before the larvae are terminated in the nests. Hopefully you can then disconnect from the trees the nests of insects survived, thus preventing the complete life cycle, producing new adults the following spring. Since the presence of male signals occurred in an indirect way the coupling and therefore the presence of new larvae that may be harmful during the summer are used to capture sex pheromone traps (natural substances that attract the males). Treatment with Bacillus thuringiensis is done about three weeks after the capture of the male.
